Anyhoo, the creation of TMP4J involved charts, graphs, time management tools, editing schedules, daily word count output and a level of productivity heretofore unknown by mankind. Opening the calendar today resulted in the explosion of gray matter when I realized I'm nearly halfway through the month and my cosmically huge effort at organizing my efforts resulted in almost negative progress. I've turned in edits on a book. Oh, and an AFS (Art Fact Sheet) for the cover of another. Now, don't get me wrong. I've written. A lot. But I've deleted a lot more. That's never a good feeling. I've been trying so hard to get this story right that it's been a lot of write, edit, delete, rewrite, edit, delete, start again. In a way? It cracks me up. In another way? Let's just say the cashier at the grocery store no longer teases me over purchasing Oreos by the pallet. Teasing a crazed writer just isn't safe, my friends. No, she now just calls for the forklift and gives me my loading ticket to take around to the store's loading dock. In return, I've stopped growling at her. Seemed fair.
I'm going to be truly buckling down the next couple of weeks and focusing hardcore on getting the final cowboy book in the Wild Western Heat miniseries finished. The book, Ty's story, is titled COWBOY STRONG. The subtitle would be And the Author's Crazy. This story has ripped my heart out a hundred times, and I'm just rounding out the first hundred pages. Talk about brutal!
Next on my schedule is to complete a proposal for a new series. And then? I get to dive into the second book in The Assassin's Arcanum, my newest paranormal romance series! I'm going to try to write it and finished the very end of the second Key Guardians book, THE RUIN OF SOULS, so it comes out in December. Fingers crossed what's left of my oozing gray matter isn't lost when I fall over, exhausted. I figure I might, might, make it to the end of next week before I'm a goner. We'll see. If anyone starts taking bets, I'm laying a Benjamin on me not making it to the 23rd of July without experiencing a minor (major?) meltdown. (Might as well make some money off my personal brand of crazy.) :D
In the meantime, the first cowboy book, A COWBOY RETURNS, will hit the shelves on July 21, and will release digitally on August 1. I'll be back on release day with a contest certain to make one reader's day.
Until next time,
Kelli
