~ I wrote a cowboy trilogy.
~ I saved the youngest brother for last because his book was most difficult to write.
~ I tapped into a lot of personal issues to write Tyson's story.
~ I cried.
~ I edited.
~ I cried some more.
~ The book was done.
~ Reviews started to come in.
~ The amazeballs author, Lisa Marie Perry, reached out to congratulate me. I had no idea what she was referring to, so she sent me the above screenshot.
~ Cue squeals and (even more) tears. (What? It's been an emotional few months.) :)
I have this list of goals in my writing career. Some of them are realistic (write a book that hits people hard in the feels). Some of them are pie-in-the-sky (take a single title book to number one on the New York Times and/or USA Today list). But another of my goals has been to have a book listed as a Top Pick with RT (Romantic Times Magazine). I never imagined it would happen so early in my career, but there you have it. Proof that not only do dreams come true, but hard work really does pay off.
But one thing holds truer than any in this journey of mine:
The most important thing to me is that I write books you love.
Happy reading,
Kelli
